"Uncle Bob" Randall (right) is an Aboriginal elder whose traditional land includes Uluru, and his is an unusually eloquent and articulate voice on behalf of his people. Randall candidly accepts that the old life is long gone and their belief system is in tatters, but there is a notable lack of self-pity or festering regret when he describes what has happened to his people. Instead, he convinces us with disarming ease of the need for education and that, unless they have full access to it, his people are doomed to live on the margins, bewildered by a complex culture that seems hell bent on destroying them. Historical footage complements this informative primer on what it means to be Aboriginal. Should be compulsory viewing in all schools.

Extras: Two television interviews.
