DVD & VIDEO REVIEW: The Graham Norton Effect, Hopscotch, minutes, MA, TV series, 2004 ***
GRAHAM Norton - the Irish stand-up comedian who once played Father Noel Furlong in Father Ted - hosts a TV show for Comedy Central in New York billed as "sideshow, talk show and peepshow", which pretty much sums it up. The quick-witted host confronts, flatters and teases celebrity guests and puts a revved-up, appreciative audience through its paces with an unrelenting celebration of smutty anecdotes. Merciless audience participation, games, outdoor challenges, sex toys, eccentric objects, strange products and weird internet sites abound. This two-disc set features seven of the 13 episodes in the series. The user-friendly menu allows you to select segments from each show or cut straight to the celebrity of your choice. No DVD extras.
