Hopping For A Playground
Newcastle Herald
Tuesday March 19, 2002
ON March 4 our school started a hopscotch competition organised by our SRC and Ms Power. The winners were Ashley Pearson and Jordan Turner.
The competitors were judged on the fairest player.
Competition was fierce as there was only to be one boy and one girl winner and a couple of chocolate bunnies were on the line.
It cost 20 for each child to enter with the proceeds doing towards the purchase of board games for our playground.
We held the competition at lunch and a lot of people come and a couple of older people come along and enjoyed a fun lunchtime.
Rumour has it that several of the not so young were teachers who hadn't had so much fun in years (or was that decades).
Some children enjoyed throwing a coin and jumping over it and collecting it on the way back.
Some children enjoyed just playing. It was a fun time for everyone involved.
Thank you SRC and Ms Power.
